Fear Street Trilogy Plot Synopsis
According Feae Street someone cursed the city to a cycle of constant murder and failure. This later led to Shadyside being called the murder capital of America.
When Deena and her friends come across Sara Fier's bones, they find themselves front and center of this terrible curse.
It soon becomes clear that the clues to stopping this lie in the past, and specifically in a woman named Cindy Berman. He is one of the few survivors of a mass massacre at Camp Nightwing. However, it turns out that Cindy is actually Ziggy, who assumed her sister's identity after her younger sister died.
Believing that they need to reattach Sarah Fier's severed hand to her body, Deena and the gang set out to transport Deena to 1666 after only touching her hand and succeeding in doing so.
Deena is now struggling to explain Sarah Fier's origins - but can she survive the ordeal? So what does this mean for kids in 1994?
Who Cursed Sunnyvale?
Since 1666, Union (the name of the town before it was split in half) has been convinced that Sarah Fier was the real witch and bringer of the plague throughout the country. To make matters worse, Sara's healing abilities are only doubted by the frightened and paranoid townspeople.
Sara is romantically involved with Hanna, apparently secretly falling in love away from the prying eyes of the villagers. Unfortunately, one night they kiss and are spotted by Mad Thomas, a town resident.
Word of their deeds spreads throughout the town, and at the town hall, the villagers decide that the couple are witches and sinners.
Shortly before this, the city begins to face a series of terrible events. Rotting food and cannibalistic pigs appear to be the result of Sarah and Hannah's relationship.
The truth is, the real culprit here is Solomon Goode. Suleiman is a widowed loner who lives outside the settlement. His wife and child died and were buried near his residence. Despite putting on a happy face, there's nothing else underneath.
Why does Solomon curse Shadyside?
Suleiman is deprived of his life and believes he deserves a better chance than he was given. In fact, he is so adamant about it that he kills others to protect his own happiness. Each victim is engraved in stone underground. It is Solomon who kills the widow and steals the book of the devil, and all this evil comes from his cellar.
He set up a witch altar complete with a pentagram. Cyrus Miller is the first victim to summon the demon. This period of violence continues, bringing happiness to Suleiman and his later ancestors.
How does Sarah lose her hand? And what does it matter?
After Sarah learns that she is the real culprit behind the terrible events in town, Sarah and Solomon fight in the latter's basement. While fighting, Suleiman cuts off Sara Fier's hand.
Sarah leaves him behind as she flees, but is unfortunately captured by Solomon and brought back to the city.
Unwilling to see Hannah sacrificed, Sarah takes the brunt of the blame, telling everyone that she is a witch and that she actually bewitched Hannah.
As Sarah hangs herself, she promises to never let Suleiman go and to reveal the truth in the future. No matter what, he'll make sure everyone knows the truth.
Hannah Miller and the surviving children move Fier's body from under the tree to another location, a location only they know. Sarah's last promise before she dies is to show exactly what she did with the curse on Solomon's hand.
Who is Solomon's ancestor?
Sheriff Nick Goode and all of his blood are related to Solomon and are essentially evil. He is also responsible for the Camp Nightwing massacre and the Shadyside Mall incident.
Well-wishers actually sell people as sacrifices to get all those good luck charms back. The demon feeds on the dead blood of Shadisiders, and Gud and his family get what they want.
In fact, Sunnyside is getting better and better while the Shadysiders are being sacrificed. The cycle continues, with responsibility passing from firstborn to firstborn, all the way to Nick Goode. Sarah Fier is actually innocent of all this.
Do children stop cursing?
In 1994, the kids soon realize that the only way to stop this is to kill Nick Goody, thus preventing the curse from spreading to his ancestors. To do this, the guys come up with a plan to trick Nick into surrendering.
Nick resurrects former Shadyside killers to get rid of anyone who touches Sara Fier's bones. He obviously doesn't want the family secret leaked and is going to keep it under wraps.
Anyway, the teenagers manage to trick Nick Goody at the mall, and the curse is finally broken after Deena kills Nick, being controlled by Sarah Fier while doing so. Solomon's curse is broken and Sam is released from his manic state.
The underground pulsating mass (we just call it the heart of the curse) eventually dries up and sinks into the ground.
Fear Street 7
How does the Fear Street Trilogy end?
With a broken curse, all is not well in Sunnyside. Their luck has run out. The truth about Sheriff Hood is revealed when Deena and Josh are back on speaking terms and closer than ever.
Ziggy also comes to see Nurse Lane, returns her book, and relives what happened at the camp. Josh also discovers the identity of the mysterious email sender.
As the credits begin to roll, we cut to a basement where someone is holding the devil's book.
But who could it be? We're left with an ambiguous final shot, hinting that there may be more to the story than meets the eye. Could it be that one of Nick Goode's ancestors intends to revive the ghosts of the past?
