Leharaayi South New Movie Honest Review, Ranjith Sommi

Leharaayi, a romantic drama starring young actor Ranjith Sommi and Malayalam beauty Sowmyaa Meno, hit the screens today. Let's see how the movie is.

  Story:

Well-bred Megan (Sowmyaa Menon) promises her doctor father Purushotam (Rao Ramesh) that she will never love anyone or make him sad in life. Whereas Karthik (Ranjith Sommi) is a student who doesn't like hearing and apologizing. One day, Meghan suggests Karthik to get rid of the intruder. Did Meghan really love Karthik? What did Purushotham do next? The answers will be known by watching the main movie.

  Extra Points:

The story is not something new for the audience, but the director tries to narrate it in a different way by introducing a new point. Two film old actor Ranjith Sommi has improved his acting in this film and still looks decent. Whereas Mallu actress Sowmyaa Menon looks beautiful in this romantic comedy film. This is his second Telugu film as the hero. Not only its looks but also its performance is quite decent.

These kind of father roles are tailor made for versatile actor Rao Ramesh and he gives his best performance and of course his character stands out in the film. Naresh, Satyam Rajesh and others do justice to their roles.

  Negative Points:

As mentioned above, the plot is okay but director Ramakrishna Paramahamsa's way of narrating it is ineffective. Although the film has good songs, comedy and action scenes, it fails to attract the audience due to dull story and unnecessary scenes especially in the first half.

The lead couple looks good but they should have done better. To talk about Sowmyaa, she looks good, but some performance could have helped give her some credit. To talk about the songs, several of them are euphonious, but their placement is not appropriate. The rest of the songs hindered the film.

  Technical Aspects:

Director Ramakrishna Paramahamsa dealt with a common story and he failed to narrate it in a compelling way. Cinematography by Balreddy and music by Gantad Krishna are neat. A lot of embellishments by Pravin Pudi in the first half could have done the film favours. The production values are neat.

  Verdict:

All in all, Leharaayi is an ordinary romantic drama with a lackluster story and a weak plot filled with the usual commercial elements. The movie is a boring affair to watch this weekend and it is better to look for a good movie.
